Short Story
As a young child, Ronil used to roam in the nearby forests whenever he had time. His parents did not like his attachment to the forest and animals, initially they warned him a lot about his safety. Very clearly she thought that it would not be safe for her child to go to the jungles as there could be many dangerous animals and snakes etc.
Yet, even when Ronil grew up, his love for the forest did not diminish. Realizing this, his parents were very understanding and never discouraged him, and on the contrary encouraged him to travel with his class. In a village called Puttabaldi in South India, there lived a small boy named Manjunatha. It was a small village with a few dozen huts of farmers who grew crops there. There was a lot of lack of facilities in this village and the villagers had to go to the city about 10 kilometers away for their daily needs.
Somehow due to lack of facilities and money, Manjunath had developed the habit of stealing. He would steal pencils, paper, food, or whatever he could find. Worst of all, his ailing mother and farmer father knew little about his habit, but ignored it, thinking it would improve with time.
Since the village was small and there were only a few children, the school teacher kept a close eye on them. A school teacher had guessed about Manju's stealing habit. One day the teacher asked Manjunath to tell his parents that he would come to his house tomorrow. Distressed, Manju came home and broke the news to her parents.
The next day the teacher came to his house and sent the child outside to play while they talked to his parents. The teacher asked Manjunath's parents, are they aware of their child's stealing habit? The teacher rejected his claim and said - haven't you heard 'child is the father of man'!
